Hi, I’m Jess!

I’m a mom of three with a PhD in Environmental Ethics. I spent over a decade studying how people come to feel connected to the natural world. Then I had kids, and got to watch it happen (and not happen) up close.

What I’ve found is that a child’s love of nature grows from more than the time they spend outside. It also grows from what they learn to notice, the words we use for the living world, the stories we tell and the small habits we repeat as a family.

That’s what ReGrounded is all about. I help parents nurture that love in small, realistic ways, so our kids notice the world around them, find wonder in the little things and care about nature because it genuinely matters to them.
